2001 chevrolet malibu

Good afternnon, I was wondering if someone could please help me. I have 2 questions on my car.
1. i didn't get a manual when i bought the car. It is used. Where can i get a manual. Also, there is a red light on the bottom right hand corner that came on that has an arrow going down into like a container. what does that mean i'm low on which fluid.

2. about a week ago, my car wouldn't start when i would turn on the ignition. it would hesitate. it has 32,000 miles. i took it to the dealership and they told me nothing was wrong with it. they did a diagnostic test and it was ok?
it happened just that week. it has not happened since. i did add a gas cleaner and it is ok now. any solutions or suggestions?
thanks guys, have a great day
marie

Re: 2001 chevrolet malibu

The Light that came on is for the Engine Coolant. It comes on when it is low. The fill is into the overflow tank on the passenger side just above the wheel well.

There are two possible problems that would cause this to come on; Bad sensor and Coolant leak. Pray for the former.

To see what the problem is, open the Overflow tank when the engine is cold (off for atleast a half hour) and check the fluid level. If is seems low, add OAT Coolant (orange) and drive it for a week or so and check it again. If the fluid is at the same level, you have a bad sensor that can be replaced under warranty or by just about anyone for about $20. If the fluid is low again, then you have a bad Intake Manifold Gasket. The dealer will charge about $700 for this if it is out of warranty. Since you only have 32,000 miles, make sure you check this soon. The dealer will replace the gasket under warranty per a TSB.

bad intake manifold gasket would also explain the hesitation.
