v6 swap
Can I put a vg30dett from a z32 into a 240? I want a v6, but not an rb series. Are there any other Nissan v6s I could swap in without extensive mods?

its been done before, not cost effective. Is there any particular reason why you would want to do such a swap that will benifit you more than if you could just do an SR swap?

Re: v6 swap
The reason is that I really like the v6-rwd setup. I'd rather have a 6 cyl. over a 4. And yes, partially because it's not very common.

Re: v6 swap
I agree, I'd rather have a V6 over a 4cyl, and yes you can swap a V6 into a 240. there is a link in there of a guy who was doing this, but then put the project on the shelf. It is not that difficult, you just need custom stuff since it's not a common swap, I think it will be cool, I'm doing a V6 but mine is a ford engine, check the FAQ, I'll get the link later on if you don't find it.

The VG30DETT was another swap I was considering because of the weight distribution since it will sit so far back in the engine bay. Here is the thread that spoke about this swap, the second LINK check it out. Let us know what you decide.

WHy is it that when a shop like Top Secret does a unusual swap, everyone complains, when some guy wants to do something because he thinks it could be cool, everyone supports and encourages him?

Re: v6 swap
It is, There are tons of advantages to the VG swap over RB, we talked about it, and one of the major ones was, it is USDM, meaning Local tuners were abundant, you could find them at salvage yards, can get parts at Auto Zone, and they are a hell lot more common than the RB to find.
And LOGIK, When TopSecret does a swap, WE SAY OMG wish that was my ride. We didn't understand why they swapped out a 2JZ for an RB until Surfman explained the revving capabilities of the RB, leaving me rethinking my views, I always thought the JZ was better, but now I know better.

Re: v6 swap
I Think the RB is better than the JZ but any engine that can hold 1000HP on the stock bottom end is A-OKAY in my book
