The SI grill can only be interchangeable from 99 and 00 civics. You can get them from either junk yards, dealers, or even body shops (they can get OEM Taiwan made immatations). Call your local dealership to get an idea.

are you talking about only the grill part? i'm not sure what you're asking. but if it is, then you won't have no luck by putting the si grill section on the ex grill frame. if you do intend on buying the entire grill, you can find one on ebay, the classifieds, or go buy it from the dealer for an outrageus $150-200.

I didnt mean the frame of the SI grill but rather just the black honeycomb (metal i believe) part of the grill. I seen MajesticHonda sell the honeycomb part of the grill for the SI for about 50 dollars and thought would I be able to switch that part into my 99 EX grill.
Thanks for the replies

i also looked into this... correct me if im wrong... but when they showed me a schematic of the grill... they had the frame... then the skeleton of the grill that includes that mesh u speak of... anywaiz... tha skeleton is the more expensive of the two and i don't think any honda dealer will part with it at $50... you can try to get the grill off ebay... there should sum people who are selling those... either that or if you want a cheaper alternative... you can buy an aftermarket grill... the Type-R style looks alot like the Si grill... i got mine for $50... and u can get color-matched paint for like another $10... and a can of clear coat... except the mesh isnt as high quality... hahaha... but u can always change the the mesh to a higher quality one... besides... but wid the aftermarket grill... it makes it look like u put the wrench time... hahaha... and u can say that u got a custom grill... hahahhaha

the answer to all your problems..
i have the answer to your question. i have a 97 civic ex and as you can see in the picture, i have what is called a TYPE R grill. mine cost me like 70$ but i think i got ripped off. you can't tell by looking at the pic but there is wire mesh in it. just look around honda sites for 'type-r grill'

Best option is to go ahead and search www.thepartstrader.com for a grille, I have seen the mesh part of the grille go for 90.00 but this is only at online stores. Much easier finding a complete grille because that is what you will end up doing anyway. The Si grille differs from that of a EX, the shape is slightly different the mesh will not fit inside your EX shell. At this time one could probably be had for the highest of 80.00 through a seller on the net. Good luck
