Sound System Advice!

I hva a 2004 civic LX and I want to setup my system. Everything look pretty simple except for removing the stock cd player. Before the civic I had a 91 accord EX and changing the cd player was easy. There was a screw in the back that you had to unscrew and then it just popped out.
Can anyone give me some advice on how to take the stock cd player out? I already have the kit that will fill the gap left by the weird shape of the stock cd player.

Any Help will be greatly appreciated.

I was able to get the glove box out but thats about it. www.installdr.com does have a lot of information but none for the 04 civic. If anyone has any information that would be great.

Re: Sound System Advice!

Here are a few easy steps also here is a pic with steps

LINK

1. You have to pull the section around the shifter out
2. take out 2 screws that are exposed
3. remove the horseshoe section by pulling the sides out and then the whole thing back, and disconnecting the cig lighter harness
4. take out 2 bolts from under the opened section of the dash. These are going through a metal brace and screwed into the radio bezel brace
5. Push up and out on the bezel brace. Watch the bottom of the bezel to guide yourself
6. Disconnect the harnesses and remove the radio bezel assembly
7. Remove 3 screws holding the HVAC controls
8. Remove 4 screws from radio, 2 per side
9. Remove 4 screws from pocket, 2 per side

Please read the thread before you post. The answer is already posted with the correct DIY. The one you posted is not the correct answer. If you read the thread in 7th gen you would see the 03-05 headunit and consol is different from that of an 01-02 that you had posted.
