1975 Blazer smoking

1975 Chevy Blazer starts up great but after
a few minutes it starts pushing out
light white smoke out of the exhaust.
Autozone said to pour 'Smoke B Gone' to fix it.
I thought I'd ask you all first.
Thanks.

Steve

Ok, but does this light white smoke go away after you have been driving it for a bit?

i am not sure....i have only noticed it while in park.
does it make a difference if it is being driven or just sitting idle?
i am a bit ignorant about these things so please forgive me if what i am asking is stupid.
i'll try driving it around,....how long should i drive it for to see
if this smoke is going to stay or go?

Re: 1975 Blazer smoking

It is normal for the condensation to go out of the system as the truck is warming up.

If it was thick billowing white smoke then I would be worried.

Re: 1975 Blazer smoking

check you coolant level is it low????
Does the smoke stop after about 10 mins or does it stay?? Is it white or blue tint. Do you have a sweet smell outside the truck while running (antifreeze)

Exactly how much oil are you using (1 quart every X Miles)? Do you have to add oil between oil changes?

Be very carefull about what you add to your crank case.

Re: 1975 Blazer smoking

It is funny, this time of year there is a slew of questions like this seeing the colder air is condensating water in the exhaust system.

You can litterally see which car on the road is warmed up. The one with no water vapour coming out the tailpipe is up to snuff.

Are you in Arizona?
1975?

If this doesn't occur when you first start it, but white smoke appears after running the engine a few minutes sounds like a water leak to me, more so if you are in a warm climate.

Intake manifold is a possibility (You would notice you oil level going up and looking like chocolate milk), Head gasket is more likely if water leaks into the exhaust. (warped heads cause water leaks)
