GT/Stealth?

Are these GTs or Stealths? Pictures are from Need For Speed Underground 2:

Re: GT/Stealth?

Looks like a mitsu emblem on the hood in the 1st picture. However, it's NFSU- those body kit polygons can radically alter a cars appearance. It could be anything!
It might even be an eclipse- it was their opening movie car in the first game.

Re: GT/Stealth?

The 2 pictures have different spoilers, the top has the 99 GT spoiler, the 2nd has the hoop GT spoiler on the 97+98s

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: GT/Stealth?

I think it was just the lighting in the first one that makes it look like a 99 VR4 spoiler.

Re: GT/Stealth?

The more I look at it, the more I'm sure it's an eclipse.
isn't the Underground series all about imports? I can only think of one domestic in the original, and that's the Neon.

I know they might have added some cars in the new one....but given the information I have available to me...I'm making a guess. :-P

Re: GT/Stealth?

no way they are eclipses, the 99 wing is a give away, along with the dual exhaust. The tail lights are too short and long to be eclipse, the headlights and turn signals are pure 99. Then look at the A and B pillars. Then there are the mirrors, the hood, etc. You cant really think they are eclipses, right?

Re: GT/Stealth?

for one thing, they're imitations of cars built with polygons.
The line in the spoiler of the second picture looks exactly like the split in the spoiler of a stock 98(?)RS spoiler.

The headlight shape in the first pic looks like the projection lights of the 98 as well. Remember that in NFSU, you can replace the headlights/tailights as well.

The taillights in the Second picture do wrap a bit around the side and come to a point, a classic Stealth/GT line. And, you're right about the hood length, but that [i]might[\i] be attributed to an imperfect render.

Anyway, I'm not saying you're wrong, just presenting my opinion and some of the reasons I have such an opinion

EDIT: Also, if it IS a 3000GT:
1)I've just become more interested in the game.
2)it better be the VR4, and
3)it better be one of the best cars in the game.

Re: GT/Stealth?

I'll be working thursday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. now I'm gonna have to fix the VCR AND hook it up...

Also, the carlist may have been out for a while, but I was never interested enough in the game to go hunting for it...until I found out it had a 3000GT in it.
