chrysler concorde problem starting

My 95' chrysler concorde is having problems starting it starts then it shuts off, then the head lights blink on and off. We uninstalled a Viper alarm system and it still will not start. We also called the dealer and they ran the VIN # and they said that there was no factory alarm installed on the car. Any ideas please help!!! Stacie

Re: chrysler concorde problem starting

Few questions.

Is there a protrusion sticking up in the center of the dash close to the windshield with a red lens on the top and curved towards the front?

Does the horn blow in unison with the headlamps?

Does the car start then quit within a couple of seconds?

If all of the above answers are yes, then the vehicle does indeed have a factory anti theft system. Try unlocking one of the front doors with the key and that should disable it.

yes there is a sensor in the middle of the dash but we called the dealer and they said that there was never a factory alarm installed on our car, any idea how I can confirm that for myself??

the horn does not sound when the head lamps flash.

Yes it starts then a second or two later shuts off.

The sensor in the middle of the dash have a flashing red LED?

I still got a feeling the vehicle does have the anti theft device due to the headlamps flashing and the engine dying a few seconds after startup, unlocking either front door with the key should turn it off, UNLESS! Who ever installed the aftermarket alarm disabled the switch in the doors to turn off the factory alarm when it is unlocked with the key.

If the dealer ran your VIN and they were unable to see if a factory alarm was installed, you have an aftermarket one and need to go back to the aftermarket company and ask them how to disable the engine-shutdown feature. Or if you have the key fob, see if you can press the unlock switch; most of the time that will disable the alarm system allowing you to start up.
