headlight question

i recently seen headlights on e-bay for sale. they were euro dezigns 6000k xenon krypton if that makes any sense. do these lights make my headlights look like the new bmw mercedes nissan etc. i had one of my headlights burn out the other day and went to walmart tonight to see about getting a replacement. and am short on cash till friday. but didn't want to be driving around with a headlight out. so bought a sylvania cool blue bulb for 9 bucks. and it is definately alittle brighter than my other factory light. was gonna but silverstars but like the look of the new cars that have that blue look any thoughts on this matter???

Re: headlight question

the 6000K is a designation of color, although most people think it means how much light the bulb puts out. as your color indication gets higher, your light will go from yellow to white to blue to violet... BUT after you pass white, the actual amount of light discharged will decrease (as in violet actually puts out less light than blue). those bulbs wont be any brighter than a highquality standard white (e.g. silverstars) unless they are a higher wattage. but be careful, high watts can melt housings and even sometimes burn wires.
so much for function... as for opinion... i like a slight blue to mine just so i know its not on the yellowy side of white. i have silverstars in my car, but i have blue blue fog lights (havent put them in... if you want me to take a pic of my silverstars and blue fogs in my car then let me know). i got the fog lights at a small shop here by me... i paid $25 for the pair bc the guy has talked to me before... im thinking normally they were 40 and i wasnt about to pay that for fog lights this minute. but back to headlights... i like the slight blue but i went pure white because everyone is getting blue headlights (like my roommate in his dropped avenger) and if i cant run with real HID's right now, i'd rather just get a pure white so i dont look like a cheap imitation of a blue HID.

Re: headlight question

i just sent them... here is the text of the emai:

"here... one is a big picture straight on at the nose... the other picture i have my turn signal on so that it shows my cornering light on... the cornering light is a normal bulb so you see the color difference... (for reference, i think my headlights are rated as 4100K i think, so your 6000K bulbs would have a much more blue tint probably)"

Headlight Replacement

I purchased a pair of 6000K color temperature Silverstars for my 95 Aurora after a headlight died on eBay for $20. Very happy with the whiter color, brighter (to be expected of a new bulb) and price. suggest you shop around on eBay.

The SilverStars are around 4000K, much whiter than the Blue 6000K I replaced them with.
