Question Now a question on tires!

Ok! I had my question about rims answered, Thank you! So now that I know I am not going to get rims. A guy here at my work said to get better tires, any suggestions? It is a 2000 Chevy Camaro and the color is Pewter. Also it's time to replace the brakes any ideas on good ones. I commute everyday and use my breaks a lot so I need ones that will give me less dust and last a long time. I appreciate any opinion/suggestions you can give me. The guys at the tire shop's are a rip off. There just trying to make money$.

Re: Now a question on tires!

What size you looking for? Price range? Performance type? What road conditions/weather will you go in?

Re: Now a question on tires!

well, i run goodyear eagles on my camaros, i ran GT's on the RS, and i run F1's on the IROC. no runflats though for the love of god. but as far as brakes, i use ACdelco pads, but ive heard good things about hawks brake pads.

I have ran the stock goodyears (so-so), dunlop sp5000, (loved 'em) and currently kuhmo ecstas. ( not quite as good as the dunlops, but lot's cheaper) I like the look and ride of 255/50/16's as opposed to the stock 245/50/16. Not a huge difference, but noticable.

Tires

I have a Z28, and I have sunshine in the summer and Rain in the winter (California). The roads I take to work are pretty beat up. Lots of bumps and such.

Re: Now a question on tires!

pgcandy..as for my exp., the goodyears were so-so year-round. The dunlops were excellent dry or wet untill the 40,000 mile mark. They fell off rapidy then. So far the kuhno's are great rain or shine. Time will tell how they hold up. I live in S.E. Texas. We get alot of rain too, so wet traction is one of my concerns with street tires.
