Noise in front end - maybe suspension

My '99 Silverado ex-cab Z-71 has a terrible squeak sound from the drivers side front end. I have checked the body mounts and they are tight. It only does it over bumps rough roads. Could it be the shock or the upper or lower A arm. I need help, I'm out of ideas.

Re: Noise in front end - maybe suspension

You could try taking a can of silicone spray (not wd-40 it attracts too much dust) and spray all the suspension bushings, soak them good and let it sit for a bit or at least do not expect it to quiet it down right away , it needs time to soak in all the way. If that does help it is possible that it may come back, My '88 was bad like that. This may not solve your peoblem but it is a place to start. good luck

Re: Noise in front end - maybe suspension

I spoke to friend of mine that is a mechanic at a GMC dealership. He was able to copy the problem in the driveway and it's the upper and or lower mounts on the shocks. There are rubber mounts on the shocks and they dry up and start to squeak. He recommends loosening the bolts and rub bearing grease on rubber mounts and reattach the shocks. That should fix the problem. But thanks for the advice.
