Weird "buzzing" noise when starting
Well, here is a new one....lately, when cranking and just when my 88 quad 4 kicks over, it makes a buzzing noise for about a second, but starts and runs fine. I looked for anything loose under the hood while I had my son crank it over...Couldn't find anything but still hear the noise...Almost like something vacuum related is causing the problem. All lines are fairly new and leak free. Not a real big problem, but it is bugging the hell out of me. Don't believe it is the starter either....Anyone else encounter something like this? Thanks...

Re: Weird "buzzing" noise when starting
Hmmm.... I'd say any short buzzing before turning over would be your fuel pump turning on. I'm not sure about when it was set up to turn on in the 88 grand am's, but my guess would be fuel pump just turning on if nothing seems to be wrong with it.
