Winter storage

I am getting ready to store my baby for the winter. This is the first car that I have ever "put away for the winter and I was wondering if there were any precautions I should take. It will be stored in an unheated garage until next spring. I am planning on washing/waxing before I put the car cover on. Anything else I should do such as remove the battery?? And what about next year when I get her out for the spring? Thanks guys!!!

Re: Winter storage

well i doubt the battery will last without dying.. i would remove it and put it somewere were you can hook up a trickle charge to it every once in a while. i would put one of those lil pine tree air freshners on the rear view too just so the air in there dont get to stale... i hate a stale smelling car.

Depending on your battery I'd say it'd be fine.

I picked up a Yellow Top for my civic and the guy said it'd be fine sitting for a while (because I'm at school, only drive the car rarely).

Re: Winter storage

maybe add some fuel preserivitives into the tank if its full. make sure your anti-freese, and winsheild fluids is right for the conditions where you live. maybe an oil change if its time anyway? pull the battery.. clean the car up, so its ready for spring when you get in. tuck her in and give here a kiss good night..
