Angry 94 s-10 4x4 with a few problems

Hey guys.
I just bought a 94 s-10 4x4. The speedo just went out. I was wonder if that is electronic or if it a cable. Also when I hit 4x4 i can here it go in the it clicks back to 2 high. Also the power window on the driver side works only some times. Can anyone help me? I would really appreciate it.

Re: 94 s-10 4x4 with a few problems

Is the truck a manual or push button 4X4?
With the window, it is probably the motor. I had mine go, it is common, and suggest having a shop replace it because of the very large rivit gun required to do so.

That is a good website Jim. When I did mine I just took the motor off while the regulator was still in the door. As for mounting the new motor, using bolts is out of the question with the regulator still in the door. I took it to a shop I knew and had them pop a few rivits in, real cheap.

Guess I better go have my bolts removed that I put in 4 years ago and have them pop riveted.

Thanks alot guys tire lube shop. I can get a rivet gun that is no prob. As for the 4x4, it is pushbutton. It is almost as if the 2-hi button is stuck. Anymore Ideas would be much appreciated.

Re: 94 s-10 4x4 with a few problems

Hey Mikado14, what year is your truck. On my 95 the only way to get a bolt in there is if you take the whole assembly out, allowing the gear to pivot past the one hole so a bolt can be put in. It is easier to just replace the motor with the assembly still in the truck and have a rivit put in for you. Now if you want to do the extra work then please be my guest.

Hey vtmecheng, mine is a '93. The original poster said he had a '94 which is the older style and the same as a '93. So therefore, it isn't extra work. But as you said, the '95 is a horse of a different color.
