1996 Stratus suddenly stops

Hello

Sometimes after taking around 200 miles, my stratus starts to slow down (it is like I cannot pump gas in the motor), then it stops by giving a noise like a pop. If I want to start the ignition, it sounds like a tractor. After 1 hour staying it starts and goes like nothing has happened.
Anyone has any idea?

I forgot to mention that the rev meter is not moving smoothly but stalls sometimes.
