My 1999 Mirage (automatic) starts to shake really bad when I hit 60 mph. When I raise it up to 65 mph, it stops but then does it again when I accelerate again.
The shaking literally makes the entire car tremble, I have spent alot of money trying to find out what it is yet no mechanic can tell me. If anybody can help me I will greatly appreciate it. Jaime |

Re: 1999 Mirage Trembling/Shaking at 60 mph
How are the tires on the car? It might just need to get balanced again.

Just to give some additional background:
The car has undergone various interventions, the tires were changed, aligned and balanced. We also changed the axel shaft(trunnion), rack and pinion, transmission points (puntos de la transmission), and the distribution (timing) belt. Other fixes were made but do not have any relevance to the defect. I was wondering if maybe the trembling has anything to do with the steering box? The trembling itself is very strong on the passenger side. Thank you to all for your help, I have been dealing with this situation for a year now, Jaime Santana |

Re: 1999 Mirage Trembling/Shaking at 60 mph
I'm feeling the shop that balanced the wheels did a poor job or that the wheels may have run-out in them. Try to find a shop with a road-force balancer.
