tranny question

hi guys i am eventually planning to go ls/vtec. i wany to gather up the parts slowly so i can find good deals. i was wondering if i really need a b16 tranny. could i just keep my b18 ys1 (gonna get a lsd) with the vtec. the reason is because i don't want it to rev so high when driving.
or would the best solution be to use the b16 tranny and put a final gear of a b18(ys1) if thats possible.
thanks guys

Re: tranny question

LS tranny is good. I believe any B series tranny will fit. How are you planning to do the swap? gonna use the kit?

Re: tranny question

no.for the vtec head. the cams use oil pressure to activate the extra cam lobes when vtec engages.

Get an LSD tranny! It will help you a lot. Worth the extra money.

Re: tranny question

i think the ls tranny will hurt the perfomace of the b16a.but yeah.it deppend what tranny of b16 u get. theres the ys1,s1,j1. ys1 is the best i think. its not as harsh as the s1.ys1 is the way to go. not the one on the b18a.its the ef8-9 sir tranny. the s1 is from the integra xsi.
