Re: help with new stereo

I think you need to do some more research because you have absolutely no idea what you're looking for

The w7 and L7 are completely different, not only are they in completely different leagues as far as price and performance goes, but they're for completely different functions. What are you looking for exactly? Just getting loud? Do you care how it sounds? Do you plan on getting a front stage that might be able to keep up with the bass? Is there any concern for price?

Re: help with new stereo

I don't really know where to start comparing them.....the W7 is better in every way. Better sound quality, louder, it isn't as efficient I don't think, but that can be fixed with power . There are millions of other choices though, the two you picked are almost complete opposites as far as subs go.

Stereo help

Man, coming from a car audio installer and customizer...Between the L7 and the W7, well man, it depends what you want. If you want to be LOUDER for cheaper, kicker is the way to go. The W7 was not made with volume as the most important characteristic, sound quality was the main concern. The W6, for the money, is a million times better sub. Also, unless you have some serious amping going on, it really wont matter what sub you have, both subs are gonna cost twice thier price to amp...i mean, whats the point of having a sub that can handle 750 watts rms when you power it with an x-plod 1200 watt that truly puts out 225 watts at four ohms?? End story, kicker is great as well as jl, but if you want to really knock, do like me....2 L7 12's, 2 kicker kx600.1's, a kicker 350.4, an eclipse 8 volt head unit, 2 optima red tops and gobs more...all in a tiny little 2004 mazda3 hatch...do yourself a favor, save some money and dont go jl...their w3 is almost as much as a solo-baric...btw, dont rule out the kicker vr's, they are bad little boys, and CHEAP

Re: help with new stereo

That's all fine and dandy IF you don't care how it sounds, the L7s were not made to sound good just like the W6v2s were not made to get loud. The two companies just have very different goals in mind.
