Accessory Power Drop?

I found the accessory powerdrop behind the glovebox, it looks like it is actually a connector. It has four wires, black, yellow, orange and purple. What is each color represent? Do they make a harness that can connect to the connector and split off to bare wire? Thanks in advance.

Re: Accessory Power Drop?

I dont think so, I just sliced into the wires right before the connector but you could call the dealer to see if they have a plug for it, like an accesory package

What is the color sequence for the wire? There are four, I know black is ground. Whats purple, yellow and orange? I think those are the colors.

Thanks!

Question

I was in the passenger footwell looking for the auxiliary power drop forever last night! It left me scratching my head, I could not find it! Any tips?

I removed the shield (the one with two clips) from under the glove box, and saw a lot of cable-age, but I couldn't make out the apprpriate one.

Re: Accessory Power Drop?

well get under there and lay on your back and put your legs up on the seat, so your head is towards the engine. if yours is where mine was, well lets see from that point of veiw, look up(towards the engine) and left (towards the outside of the car) and it should be more open and empty sapce where there arent tone of wiers, and there should be just a empty plug there not connected into anything. it will have a red black yellow and purplpe or some other color, but there are four that run into this plug. im not sure if the dealership has something like apackage that can be pluged into this of if they just put a connector on the end for safety so wires wouldnt just be hanging, but I just sliced into the pwer(red) and ground(black) there to hard wire my radar detector in. ill try to get a picture of it with my craptastic computer camera if you need some more help.

Re: Accessory Power Drop?

I am sure the origional poster found the answer to most of the questions by now, but has not been reported here.

Black is ground
Orange is 12 volt power at all times
Yellow is 12 volt power switched at ignition

What is the purple? Does anyone know. Local dealer wasn't interested in figuring it out through service manual.

I am hoping for audo mute for mobile phone, but want to confirm it before I hook it up.

If that is not what it is, does anybody have a cheap solution to get audio mute for phone?

Thanks.
