Re: Distributer

ok, with a the driver side valve cover off, and all the spark plugs off, put a socket and breaker bar on the harmonic balancer bolt. now, rotate the engine over with the trans in neutral, till you see the intake valve open and close, then keep turning the crankshaft, you should feel the air blow out of the cylender when air stops moving, stop rotating, it means the piston is at TDC on the power stroke. now, install the distributor by sliding it in gently, youll need to use a little finagaling or creativity to get it down on the oil pump drive shaft. but youll figure that out by doing it. you want the rotor pointing to the number 1 post on the distributor when its fully seated and installed, only way to get it is to do trial and error, youll notice that when the gears intermesh the rotor will turn slightly advanced. so when you line it up, do it slightly retarded so when the distributor fully seats it will rotate into the propor position. thats the gyst of it, im sure any things i left out will be explained by other guys on the board.

speaking of.. welcome to the forum.
