fuel economy for 2500HD with duramax diesel

I'm looking at buying a '05 2500HD silverado with a duramax diesel. What fuel economy should this truck get when not towing anything, just average driving?

Thanks
Brian

15-16 is also the average we see from our fleet trucks. Aftermarket programmers such as the Edge Juice help increase that while giving more power as well

Get the PCM tuned, there are a lot of things that can be changed to get better power and fuel economy. Everybody here keeps mentioning that Allen guy at Neson Performance.... I've got his tune and couldn't be happier.

Thanks, I'm just about to check out his site and I'll see what's up with the diesels.

If he doesn't do diesels he will turn you on to someone who does. Check out his forum LS1TRUCKS.

Good Luck

Re: fuel economy for 2500HD with duramax diesel

I had one for a year and 16-19 is accurate. I had the edge juice on it and did not see any mpg gain, but major power gains can be made! Awsome truck, and really miss it, almost bought another one last week with the employee price/incentive they got going! Just can't justify another payment.
