Angry 90 GT problem...

i recently got two problems on my 90 GT manual...one is my idle speed, whenever i have a short period of time of stopping of my car, i.e. runs forward then stops then backward or stop and go in traffic, once the rpm hits the idle(750rpm), it would occasionally drop to abnormal idle(400-500rpm), i even got it dropped to 200rpm once. i have no idea why this happens, anyone knows??? (i got a TRD air filter on it)

the second problem...when i gas on my car(at any speed, any rpm), no matter i am gonna brake on it or not, AT THE MOMENT when i release the gas(gonna cruise or brake) my car stalls/jerks once or twice, then it smooths out, i notice the stall is coming from my left front, so it's from the shocks, wheel alignment, gearbox, clutch or the engine???

thanks if anyone could help...

It is happening to me too with the first problem you are having, but today mine stalled on me. I had to restart it twice.
I hate it .

for the idle problem, yes i am in 1st or 2nd when i am in that short period of time. usually happens when i park my car (like in that few seconds when i stop and shift to reverse), and slow traffic, stop and pick up frequently. it happens even with no electronics on.

Re: 90 GT problem...

its eather u suck at driving, or your clutch is shitty.... when you shift does the rpms stay the same for a second then go down or do they go up for a second athen go down?

Re: Re: 90 GT problem...

i completely disengage the clutch when shifting, my clutch is working good. the rpm goes down to idle when disengage the clutch, then it does stay at idle for maybe 10th of second, then goes down to 4-500rpm or even lower before i engage the clutch again. and the rpm won't go up and down, it just does this...rpm to idle, stay for a 10th of second, then goes down to 4-500 or even 200 once, then back to normal 750. the whole process happens before i engage the clutch.

by the way, the idle even goes down to abnormal sometimes when i am in neutural with engaged clutch. so i don't think it's the clutch.

Re: 90 GT problem...

shit happens to me...
only in first gear ...when i punch it and quickly release the gas it feels like the car jerks....front and back

when i'm in traffic-on the freeway...on a slope up hill( EVERYBODY hates it) mine jerks back and forth
regardless how good i smooth the clutch
or i gotta put a little bit more gas into it to smooth it out

anyway, the whole suspension feels loose ONLY on first gear

shsaint....prolly you didn't match the rpm when you shift, try bring it up to 4K or more at 1st when shift up and heel and toe when shift down, then you will see how amazing the smoothness of shifting...

seems my two problems are leftover in this thread now...

Similar thing happened to my car (91 gt) just before I bought it... A friend had it stored for just under a year, when he brought it out it wouldn't hold a proper idle... kept dying on him, forcing us to get a boost. Turns out a new battery fixed it, although even then, it doesn't hold a charge in cold weather (and I live in Canada D= )... I don't know what to suggest other than have someone check the charge on your battery.

Hope this helps.

Re: 90 GT problem...

I fixed that problem on my car with a new cap/rotor/plug wires.
