GMC Paint Scratches

I have a 95 GMC Sierra, Blue & Silver. It appears to have very small scratches or cracks in the paint. The silver has more than the dark blue. I've tried a mild compound but that doesn't solve the problem. What is causing this and is there anything I can do about it?

Hey 911Dave, I have a 94 GMC Sierra, that is all white with the dark blue metallic wide band on the bottom, and I can tell you are not alone. All my white paint has the same kind of cracks you are talking about. The blue section does not. Just speaking for myself because I dont know the extent of yours, but I think I am looking at a new paint job to fix mine. But that will have to wait. I have a ton of other expensed banging on my door before new paint.
But least you know someone else has the same problem. Truthfull, I think a lot of GM vehicles have a lot of paint problems.
Joe
