As for your problemo there... Im guessing you have a Zed31? It's tough to help you without knowing a year... What year is your Zed?

Re: 300zx speedometer help

hmm ive never seen the speedometer work, its stuck at 0 no matter how fast we drive it, and all other gauges work A.O.K., we have the part that the dealership said we needed its called a pendulum but the face gauge covers little mod that will add some flavor to my Zed

my car needs alot of things to fix but since i dont have a job i buysmall things

and i havent changed my name in fact my name is Mark Anthony Hinojosa, people make fun of me because of the singer but i say my parents got it from julius ceasar

hmmm...ok. well to replace the pendulum and/or gauges you will have to take apart the dash. i dont know about on the z's but there is usually about 5 million little star screws holding everything together. im sure if you search around there is a "how to". once you get donw that far it is all pretty simple. im guessing that the guages are the sticker thingy's, not the actual guage. those are just peel off and then stick the new ones on but make sure you mark where your needles were. good luck.

Re: 300zx speedometer help

Keep in mind it could be the speed sender because z32s have electronic speedos. I reckon its far more likely that the little wire from the speed sensor back to the ECCS/speedo has gotten cut somehow.

Do you have access to a workshop manual? That thing's going to help you a tonne either way.

Re: 300zx speedometer help

The trick to ripping out a dash on any car, is masking tape.... write the name of the plug it came out of.... you dont have to know the name, give it a name or number, put a piece of tape around the wires, and one on the connecter they went to make sure they match names/numbers. This will help with reassembly, also make sure your battery is disconnected for at least 5 minutes.... or up to 10 on a Airbag system. Its best not to remove the steering wheel if you have a airbag and have no experiance with them. Static can and WILL set them off so becareful.
