need help please

my 87 crx wont crank up so i have to roll it and pop the clutch then when it is running i can disconnect the battery and it still runs so i know the alternator is working what can be the problem

Maybe you need to check your starter solenoid, or the whole starter... Sounds like that might be your first thing.

You could use a screwdriver to jump the starter. In order to do this you must have the car on (not running) and the transmission in neutral (or park). On the back of the starter, place a screwdriver on the connection to the battery cable then tap the tip of the screwdriver to the terminal with the small wire (I forget which color at the moment). If it turns over the starter is good.

NOTE: DO NOT DO THIS WITH THE CAR IN GEAR!
