Hi there.

Thx.

Hey Mike,

Well that one sure is tough!

I have the electrcal service manual for this and they call for removing the ENTIRE dash to get to it. Essentially the module is mounted way up on the firewall not to far to the right of the steering column support. Fom the drawing it looks to be just below the defrost vent area.

As with all dash removal procedures and electical componenet removal, they advise to disable the airbag first.

Best of luck man!

Curtis

Hmm, thanks for your responses.

I´d like to "reactivate" my cornering and sidemarker lamps in the front, so i look at my wiring schematic. And both lamps connetcted to this module. I don´t know, if the wires are just "dead" in the engine compartment.
If not, any suggestions to connect the lamps correctly?

Thx.

Mike

My left turn light was playing dead too, but then I noticed kick on once. What I determined was that it is in the turn signal stalk. If I hold it just right, almost clicking it to the off/nuetral position, it will come on (only as long as I hold it in this 'sweet spot'. Play with yours, it may be a contact issue like this.

Not to overstate the obvious, but you have checked the bulbs correct?

AFAIK, only cars with the lamp monitor panel in the overhead console have a lamp monitor module. It controls the LEDs in the lamp monitor.
If equipped, all exterior lamps (those that are monitored) are wired through this lamp monitor module.
On cars without lamp monitor, the lamps are wired directly from lamp control module or switch/relay.

My 93 shows that that there is a problem with the "stop light" "tail light" but all lamps work and I even replaced the 4 lamps in the tail sections to see if that would make a difference. Nothing seems to apease it. Alwys shows those two lights blinking and then, they just stay on, indicating a problem.. but there is none.

Ok, my car doesn´t have this overhead console.

Because of former german technical restrictions my car doesn´t have any bulbs in this lamps. Even the holes for the sockets are closed!
So i need sockets with bulbs, wiring and the correct connections to make them work.

F**k for TÜV.
