2000 Montana Stereo CD Question

Hi I was wondering if anyone has ever had a problem with the cd player in their Montana. After jump starting our van one time it started "Check Cd" over and over again every few minutes. In the owners manual it says to take to authorized dealer. I was wondering if anyone knew how to reset this? Thanks!

I have the same problem. But the CD will work intermitantly.

I think the CD player is NFG.

I have been looking for a solution myself. So far I have found that the CD portion of the unit is interchangeable. I just don't know where to get a replacement part, or if this will solve the problem.

I have a 2001 Pontiac Montana with the Check CD problem. When it first started and I reported the problem to the dealer they said "Heat is blowing on radio and overheating" Solution: Point vents away from radio. Since first reported it has gotten worse and now for about the last 9 months or so a CD will not play at all. Did you ever resolve your problem? If so, how?

We have a 1998 and have went through 3 radio/CD player in the thing. I have come to the conclusion that they are just junk. No we get an error E13 or something when a CD is inserted. I was told that the laser needs to be cleaned or recalibrated. If I replace again it is going to be an aftermarket one.
