00' Tacoma V6 auto tranny problems and possibly ecu problems

00" Tacoma SR5 V6 TRD 4WD Automatic tranny 75,000miles: It started with the truck shuddering under power in OD and drive. If in those two gears you are easy on the gas it is ok but as soon as you roll on the power the truck shudders and slips and grabs. Now it seems to be slipping in all gears. Just before the tranny problem started I began to have problems with the way the truck ran. It makes a poping noise coming from the intake box area when you floor the truck and the power is very jerky, it is kinda like I were tapping the brake durring accelleration. I am absoloutley sure that this noise is not detonation. The power problem with the hesitations progressed until now it will do it often even when not under alot of load. And then the tranny problems started. My gas mileage is terrible. No check engine lights have been thrown. I will be pulling the codes tomorrow. Aren't the ECU and the tranny controller one in the same? If so could the same problem be casuing both the power problem and tranny slippage problems? Has anyone had this problem? And does anyone know where I can find an ecu and a good cheap tranny? Thank you!!!

power hesitations huh? my '00 prerunner is just under 60k and I've started noticing hesitations when accelerating from a stop light.

yes, that is what mine did to begin with and still does, the problem just progressed from there.
