Too good to be true?
Theres a 95 panamagreen VR4 near my home town, it's got 81k miles and is from a dealer but the funny thing is they're not asking 14-15k, only 11,900. I contacted the dealer and I've heard of them, they're pretty big in Massachusetts for toyota sales. There isn't a pic on autotrader but they're sending them to me in email when they get them taken. Heres the autotrader ad http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...or=&cardist=17
Anyone see anything suspicious other than the low price?

Re: Too good to be true?
Yea I've asked for somone to run one on 3SI so lets hope somone can. The KBB retail value is $15,405 so it's a bit fishy but who knows this might jsut be the perfect car for me.

Re: Too good to be true?
I live in Lexington Massachusetts but the car (and me) are at school in Sryacuse NY. Bad first, its got minor damage to the bumper passenger sideskirt and a few small (less than dime sized) chips on the hood, I took it to a local body shop and they siad that it would cost me $400 for all of it to get fixed. The good is I put in a drop in K&N filter ($40), it's got 18" chrome rims off of a VR4 (some bubling along the lip but they're nice and shiny with no rash), I put in Sylvanya silverrstar lowbeams high beams and foglights and it makes a HUGE difference since the stock bulbs start to fuse and dim over time ($120), It comes with a filter recarge kit ($10), aftermarket fiberglass sideskirts which came with it when I got it ($?), 6 Bosch platnium spark plugs ($?). Heres my autotrader ad http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...lor=&cardist=0
Stealthmod, because I'm in syracuse right now and won't be going back unless its worth it because its like 350 miles away!

Re: Too good to be true?
That does sound a little fishy, but if everything checks out, go for it!!! Whoa man, that would be a sweet steal.

Re: Too good to be true?
Yea I know, I hope they just want to get it off the lot before winter seeing as though this is not the best time to be selling a sports car. Hrrm if they offer a deecent amount I might trade in my SL.

Re: Too good to be true?
You'll probably get worked if you did that, but if you're gonna be buying your VR4 right then, then you might not have a choice since you don't wanna be paying insurance for both of 'em at the same time.

Re: Too good to be true?
Ehh yea, I could just keep the VR4 off the road and drive the SL around till I find a buyer. I just hope the VR4 isn't all beat up.

Re: Too good to be true?
hey thouron, ok i have a question for you, im interested in buying your car actually... i am from Nebraska, but i am going to PA to visit my gf this thanksgiving, and then to NJ to visit my family, so ill be on the east coast. what is the actual mileage on the car? also would you want to bring it down to maybe 5000 if i gave you my 1994 ford probe gt? cause i can only drive one car back. how does the sl drive? i have never driven one, only 3kgt/stealth i drove was my brothers 92 stealth base model with 164 hp. ok thanks,
-tom if you can e-mail me some more pics. at [email protected] |

Re: Too good to be true?
a1waytrip...rather than hijacking this thread...why don't you contact Thourun via PM.
Thourun as far as your original question, that seems like an amazing deal, and I see nothing wrong with the add. I'd say call them, ask them to fax you a carfax, have a friend go over and at least look at it for obvious damage. Also make sure the 60k tuneup occured. Ask them how long they have had the car...perhaps they have dropped the price, simply because by some hint of fate, nobody else has shown interest in quite awhile and they just want to sell it.

Re: Too good to be true?
a1waytrip, I'm not looking to trade, I kinda need the full amount, I've got a guy who is very intersted coming to look at it for a second time tomorrow so he's probably going to end up buying it. From what you are saying it seems as though you'll be quite far away from me so I don't know how feesable it would be. As for the car I think I will try and get it, or at least look at it because this might be my chance for a very good thing.
