I am installing remote start on 2001 caravan and need to know which one of the wires in the conector going from distributor is the tachometer wire.
Also, I would like to ask what would be the easiest way to hook up the remote start to parking lights. Thanks HF. |

Re: 2001 G.c. Pls Help Locate Tach. Wire
Boy, you are trying to tackle one of the trickiest cars to do a remote starter on. This is something I would not recomend a newbie at. You gotta use so many relays for things like the 2nd starter wire, parking lights, and power locks. Here's some info though....

Thanks for the info, that is great I was not able to get anything like this before from anybody. I have the whole thing hooked up except for the parking lights and tach. wire and the remote start is "working" (turning the engine) except it does not start because it has no tach. signal) You got me with the 2nd stater and using "many" relays though. I did not use any at all so hopefully that is not a problem, maybe you were talking about some better remote starters where You would have to do such a thing, I am putting in a PROSTART which is one of cheapest one in the market here in Canada. I just hope that the thing will work now that I know the colour of the tach. wire. I am not too sure if I did not try this wire before. It says in the chart You sent me link to blu/org (-) should'nt I use (+) possittive signal for my remote start? Thanks again for help. |
