95 Saturn SL1 Headlight Questions **Please**
My daughter just bought a 95 SL1 Saturn and we are having problems figuring out the headlights. She drove it one night and complained she couldn't see on low beams. There are two lights on each side but the outer lights don't seem to come on at all. We checked fuses and read owners manual but don't know what the outer lights are for?? The inside lights seem to flip from high beam to low, hard to tell in daylight.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Re: 95 Saturn SL1 Headlight Questions **Please**
i beleive those outer lights are daytime running lights. they come on automatically day or night whenever the headlights are not turned on. when the headlights are turned on the daytime running lights turn off automatically.

Re: 95 Saturn SL1 Headlight Questions **Please**
DRLs(daytime running lights :P ) started on saturns in 1997, unless it was sold in canada(where DRLs are required by law) i am going to assume they are not DRLs. anyway, the outside lights are low beams(9006 bulb), inside are turn/parking(3157NA bulb IIRC), and the middle are the high beams(9005 blubs). the head lights are powered by two fuses, HDLT L and HDLT R i beleave, one controls the left headlight(both high and low) and the other controls the right. if one of the four lights is lit at full power and the other three are dim, one of those two fuses are blown(freaky saturn thing, don't ask). if you need a better look during the day, you could cover the headlight with a towel or blanket or something to darken it. then look at it like you were taking a photo in the 1800's. oh, silly me, always check the simple stuff first, are you sure the low beams aren't burned out?
