Questions about my 1994 325i...

Hey all,

I've had my BMW for a while, but there are still some questions I have on it and I know this board can help...

1) I just changed my air filter. Easy. Cheap. Good times. The question is about how often should I be changing my Air Filter? For what its worth, my car has about 140,000 miles.

2) My Power Steering Reservoir is bone dry. I'm gonna fill it up per the instructions I have but what kind of fluid does it take? I'm getting mixed info.

3) I've been through this before, but what grade fuel should I be putting in my BMW?

4) And this is a long shot, but does anyone know any good BMW service places (other than dealerships) in Cincinnati?

Thanks so much!

Hey Phil,

1. Every 10,000 miles or so, you should change the air filter in your BMW. The air filter protects the fuel injection system and the air intake system from dust and debris that can be sucked in under normal operation.

2. The power steering fluid is common Dexron II/III ATF.

3. Fuel anything above 92 Octane

4. I would go to http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...prune=-1&f=160 and ask people there . . . I'm in Northeast Ohio . . sorry . . .

Re: Questions about my 1994 325i...

In my 94 325i, I run 89 octane and in my 89 325i, I run 87 octane.. as long as the motor doesn't ping it is fine..
