Lookin for short shifter
Hey all.
I'm looking into buying a short shifter. I've seen the B&M one, but Im not spending $165 for a stick. Is there any other brands that are easy to install and good that'll pop in easily and have no problems with? I also heard about cutting the stick itself. But, that would give less threads on the stick for the shifter knob. I use the facotry knob, so I need the threads. Anyone done this? Thanks. p.s. Links would be greatly appreciated too! thanks

Re: Lookin for short shifter
you have to cut out a section from the middle of the rod then weld it back together. or cut off the end and retap the threads. or just put on a aftermarket knob. ebay special shifters seem to work fine for lots of people you can probably find one for 30 bucks

Re: Lookin for short shifter
Getting a half ass short shifter can really screw up your shifting. If I was ever so inclined to get a short shifter, it would be B&M. But I'm running just fine with the stocker

Re: Lookin for short shifter
I had an aftermarket knob on, but I took it off b.c. it was solid metal. It's cold now thats its winter, i changed back to stock shifter. Damn, I never realized how good the after shifter was. It made the stick a little bigger, but it had a better "center of gravity"(?). Called for easier shifts. Kinda weird. Ill take a look at some Short Shifters and see if anything is good. Thanks guys.
