Re: rear end ratio
I would guess that its a 2.73 for automatic and a bit lower for manual maybe 3.42 but im not sure about the manual gearing.
I changed my 2.77s out for 3.27s and they made a noticable difference and didnt kill my cruising rpms too bad. The highest I would have gone is 3.45s with my auto tranny though. |

Re: rear end ratio
Get a 3.73, that's a good all around FDR for street and strip.

Re: rear end ratio
V6 camaro's usually came with 3:08 ratio, but you could have got 3:23's if it was a stick. 3:42 was only a V8 6 speed ratio... Depending on the year of your car check the RPO code list. It's located in the glove box on the 93-95 camaros's and on the drivers door on the 96-02 camaro's.
GU2 = 2.73 GU4 = 3.08 GU5 = 3.23 GU6 = 3.42 If you are changing your gear ratio on an automatic. I would go with 3.42's or 3.73's. Remember your speedo will be off until you reprogram your computer for the gear change.

Re: rear end ratio
3.73's suck on the highway. i top out at like 120-125 with these gears. and thats at 4500rpms but damn to i gett going quick. crusing at 65 even with od your still at like 3000 rpms or something near that i dont remember ill check next time at that speed

Re: rear end ratio
if you have an auto you have 2.73 on the 94 3.4. i just put 3.42s on my 94 auto and my gas mileage wasnt affected at all. i cant notice a difference on the highway in terms of RPM (meaning its minimal, i know that it has to change) and the acceleration is a lot better. the 3.73s i think would be better cause i dont see them having too major of an effect on driveability. but if you are worried about gas and top speed, i would recommend 3.42s...
