Hi beam light on with low beams

Just bought a `99 1500 and the high beam light in the dash
comes on with the headlight switch regardless if the high or
low beams are on. Also the fog lights don`t work when the
headlights are on, only when the parking lights are on. Anyone
had this problem?

Re: Hi beam light on with low beams

Have the wires been fooled with? If somebody has added in extra lights or any little doohickey, the wires could easily be crossed any which way. Had a similar problem when I messed up my own wiring.

Everything looks stock but I`ll look closer to see
if any wires look like they have been added.

Re: Hi beam light on with low beams

it sounds like you may have a selector switch malfunction. The fog lights turn off with highbeams on. So, if the switch is broke inside a contact may be being made for the dash light, and kick out the fog lamp relay.
