Stabilizer Shaft Insulators Replacement
94 Regal Custom 3.8L
Can the front stabilizer shaft insulators be replaced without removing the shaft? I have a rather long procedure that disturbs a number of things that may be required for replacing the shaft. I only want to do the insulators. I confess, I haven't had the car up and looked at it yet. I recently replaced these items on a Chrysler minivan and what a difference $16.00 can make. Ray |

rrichard7: The '88-'96 Regals don't have stabilizer links on the front unlike most other vehicles. They just have a sway bar that is connected directly to each control arm and the crossmember of the subframe.
93rgeal87gn: The clunk coming from the back of your '93 Regal is probably a bad upper strut mount. This is a common problem on the early W-body cars. |

Thanks. The ride is a little harsh, I was hoping to get away cheap. Maybe it is time for new struts.
Thanks again. |

Well you're still kinda lucky. The '88-'96 Regals use strut cartridges up front that are easy to replace (with the W-body strut tool kit) and don't require an alignment.
You can rent the W-body strut kit from AutoZone and it is free, just a $75 deposit which is refunded when you return it. The strut cartridges are kinda cheap too.
