"Shindlers List" made me cry.....

I came home from work, and the movie had about an hour to go, so I watched it, and that hour made me shed a tear.

I missed it today, but when it's on again I'm going to tape it.

I've been aware of the movie for a long time, and I've grown an emotional attatchment to the main theme (composed by John Williams) for about 4 months, but I never got around to watching the movie.

My question to you, is what movies have moved you this much? This is the first time I've shed a tear in almost 5 years, and a movie prevoked it!

For those who live under a rock, the movie is about the holocaust by the nazi's, and how a german nazi party member didn't like what they were doing, so he build up a business to become a multimillionair, then spent all his money buying jews for slavelabour to save them from the camps. It's based on a true story.

Schindler's list is one of the most fantastic movies I've seen.

The Pianist is another good movie if you want to follow that same theme.

Re: "Shindlers List" made me cry.....

Two movies have really freaked me out, in a sad, wanting to bawl my eyes out kind of way:

1. Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) that Spielberg/Kubrik production. That flick is fascinating.......but very sad.

2. The Empire of the Sun, strangely enough, another Spielberg production from the 80's.

I can't bear to watch either flick again, because of the emotional fallout that I would feel........jeez, just thinking about it makes me want to see a shrink......jeez.........

Yeah I couldn't of spelled "Schindler's right haha, my bad on that (even though you didn't point it out). I haven't seen The Pianist, but I have seen the trailers, and I want to see it. It's on Foxtel at the moment, so when it comes on next I'll be taping it, as with Schindler's list.

Re: "Shindlers List" made me cry.....

I saw it and it was sad, but i've seen so much death and violence I didn't cry, but some times it made me sad and angry. Knowing some of my relatives supported hitler made me even more pissed. Its ok to cry to this movie. The Shawshank redemption makes me teary eyed by the end.

The part where they shoot the happy, one-armed Jewish man in the street was brutal...

Nope, the only death I've ever seen is that cat I acidently ran over on my way to Indy. I had to pull off the road because I freaked out so bad.

Well Dayna you just contradicted one thing i learned in my Death and Dying class, that everyone has been touched by death in some way... And it's not talking about animals...

Re: "Shindlers List" made me cry.....

The only "close" family that has died was my aunt, my grandpa and my great grandma.

When all the grandkids had to go take their last look at my grandpa at the funeral, I was the only one who wasnt crying.
