need free mods 4 LT1

I keep hearing about "free mods" for LT1s. I know about the TB bypass, but what are some more? I'm all about free HP. ('95 Camaro, by the way)

Keeps the warm fluid from passing through your throttle body - In essence - Keeps your throttle body cooler allowing for denser air but it's usually not even worth it.

Re: need free mods 4 LT1

there are a few that actually work. descreened maf is one that works fairly well. Another that I have heard of but I havent done is a fan switch so that the fan turns on sooner.

There is a reason why that screen is there , if you remove it , what..you gain maybe 1/4 HP ? And adding a bypass switch to kick the fan on sooner isn't a mod , It's retarded. Don't fix it if it's not broken.

Re: need free mods 4 LT1

you can make a cold air intake out of pvc and rout it to the side and down, but its not quite free, just have to buy pvc and rubber things and a cone air filter

Dude, I love it when someone states just cause a mod is free or cheap it doesn't do sh*t. Well dyno results don't lie http://www.ws6.com/mod-8.htm . and Maybe 8 -10 Horsepower at the Flywheel and 6.3 + gains at the wheels while giving on average 5.6 horsepower gain across the rpm range isn't much. you much be comparing to NOS/Supercharges/Turbo's then. Alot the free mods do show a 5+ Horsepower gain or people wouldn't do them.

Re: need free mods 4 LT1

On my old Z , I hit up a dyno after doing supposed free mods. Coolant bypass maybe give you 1 hp. Geta bone stock , do a coolant bypass and then run it. Free mods usually end up being bad for the vehicle , Like gutting a cat and having no back pressure , Trying to run the engine cold as possible all the time , taking out the maf screen , etc. The list goes on . Only real free mod that might do anything with out future possibility of damage to the car is weight removal seats , glass , etc. Whatever.

Re: need free mods 4 LT1

So what are you telling me that this site has fake info?. That the guy said to himself you know what would be fun let me make a website that tons of F-body people everywhere can come check out to see what there mods do on a dyno and just so I have some fun I'll f*ck with them and waste my time and there's with real data and put edited number's in it's place?.Also don't compare the same mods to completely different engine's everyone knows that different engines show different results to the same mods.
