Unhappy Stalling

I have a 1993 Mirage ES with a 1.5L i have been having problems with it just stalling out while driving down the road and then not starting again untill a while later (aprox. 30min to 4 hours). I have a gut feeling it is the distributor but when i try to check the flash codes i do not get that code. Also when I try to flash code the ECM i mostly get a continuous flash no rests or anything. I need help in known what is going on with it. If someone else out there has had the same problem please post and let me know wot fixed it or if it is the module or maybe the coil. I have a way to make the coil external if that is the problem then i can fix it. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Stalling

Hello,

I have the same issue on my 91 mirage. I would like to know if you found a solution yet. I am suspicious of the ECU. If I find out anything I will let you know.

i know this is an old post, but i just wanted to chime in & say that those symptoms sure sound just like when my fuel pump was going bad on my dodge stratus. drove me & 4 different mechanics nuts until it went completely out.
it only died at interstate speeds on long trips 3+ hrs. and would start back up as soon as it was towed to a shop, then wouldnt do it again till it was driven for 3 more hours at hwy. speeds.

Thumbs up Re: Stalling

i jus had the same problem.i replaced the ecm..fuel filter and pump checked all the fuses checked ehaust for stopped up converter finally replaced the distributor fixed the problem..it was a coil problem..the plugs were firing but the coil wasnt puttin out enough juice to start it an made it stall..i replaced the coil with a junk yard distributor with coil cap and everything in it for 35.00$ my car stalled up untill the last time when it wouldnt start at all..hope this helps good luck..and i had my codes checked at advance auto parts..no codes came up on that either..but it was the coil..since i put in the new distributor hasnt stalled once an runs great
