Abs Light

My Abs Light Goes On After Few Seconds Of Driving.1996 Windstar. Regular Breaks Ore Ok.
Does Anybody Know What Common Abc Problems Develop With This Vehicle. My Milege Is 212500 Miles.

Check your brake fluid level... fill it right up to the max line and see if that helps.

I have the same problem with my 98 Windstar (3.8L) with 90K miles. The Abs light has been on for quite some time now. Brake Fluid is good.

The ABS system has its own set of codes. You need an OBD II reader that is capable of reading these codes. Autozone is good for letting you strip off the codes for free. You can either have them do it for you in their parking lot or you can "purchase" the reader, use it as you need to for a day or two, then get your money refunded to you.

Get the ABS codes and that will help you narrow down the problem. Your brakes will continue to work fine but while that light is on, your ABS system is likely off-line, so no benefit there.

i have the same abs light on mine, i brought it in to the mechanic and it seems as though he cant fix it
