posible fuel cut??
I have a 95 talon tsi, 2.5 downpipe, all exhaust stuff ported out, stock t25, and bov venting to atmospher. I turned my boost up to 14psi. i think im hitting fuel cut, at like 4 grand it kinda hessitates, but then 4.5 to 7 its fine. is this fuel cut? should i have fuel cut at 14 psi?
thanks ~tyler~ |

Re: posible fuel cut??
i wouldnt think so that turbo is suposed to do 14 stock, my friend had a 95 talon he didnt have a fuel cut problem until he went into the 22+ boost level so you shouldnt have it now

Re: posible fuel cut??
Fuel cut isn't just a hesitation, it's like hitting a brick wall. I had never felt it before, and when a friend of mine told me he was hitting it (cold night), I wanted to ride so I could actually feel it. Needless to say, it's like hitting a fucking brick wall, not a simple hesitation.
![]() Your problem is mostly likely either A.) Spark plugs B.) Plug wires C.) Boost leak. I'm thinking it's A or B, so check those first.

Re: posible fuel cut??
In my experience, you definately can hit fuel cut with a T25, and you can have a stuttering related to fuel cut/boost settings. Since air is measured per revolution, at low RPM, the T25 can still boost high enough to hit fuel cut. Also, at one MBC setting, my car wouldn't hit fuel cut, but stutter like it was on the verge of doing it.
Do an intake pressure test, and turn down the boost and see if it's still there. Stuttering can be many things, and 14psi by the numbers should not be a problem. |

Re: posible fuel cut??
shit when i had the t-25 on my GST i did everything i could to max it out and i never hit fuel cut, at about 24-26psi between 3500-4200rpms then it would drop off to 17-18 as the rpms got higher. that is with no hose connected to the wastegate actuater (sp?) {sorry its late and i cant think!} but it sure was a fun ride.

Re: posible fuel cut??
well it didnt do it before i put the boost controller on it and turned it up. it doesnt feel like im hitting a brick wall, just a hesitation. as for the plugs and wires there brand new and ran fine with them till i turned the boost up. im starting to think maybe bad pump or fuel filter??

Re: posible fuel cut??
Those would be good to check too. Also, what are you spark plugs gapped at? If you just bought them and installed them without checking the gap, then most likely the gap is too big. For your mods, .028 would be good.

Re: posible fuel cut??
This might help...
http://www.dsm.org/menu.epl?item=289 Ok, nevermind... Neither one of the links work. It would be nice if they did.
