window trim
Ok, i have just done a full inspection on what i need to fix on my project car, apart from a few minor rust spots and dents there are dents in the chrome trimming that surrounds the windows. my question is because its unlikely to find these trimmings again what can i do? i was thinking it would be wiser to remove them, bog up the horrid bits and shave/smooth to a nice finish, and when i get a respray ill just paint that area the same as the body. what are your ideas on what i should do?

Re: window trim
what kind of car is it? and how deep are the dents?
filler may work but if not apllied properly it will crack or break off and so much for the paint on em. i just cant imagine not being able to find replacement trim pieces for any car. unless its like a really rare breed. and even in that case you can always have some trim fabricated for a pretty decent price. but anyways if you decide to use a filler be sure to get the chrome off before you apply the filler. |

Re: window trim
take them to a metal shop they can probly fix em.
if the dents are less than 1/8 of an inch bondo would work almost as well. but if it must be perfect fabbing is the way to go. |
