ebay air intake...

YEa i know what your thinking. "ebay? wtf is he thinking" well anyways i have my reasons. Anyways does this look like it will fit on me 97 cavalier 2.2L. I think i have to drill holes because the 2 little pipe sticking out is on the outter part, when the stock rubber intake it has it on the inner part. Do you think it will be a perfect fit? yea im a newbie and i cant afford the aem CAI or the injen intake.

Re: ebay air intake...

um... you should only need 1 wire tube to connect to your PCV valve... and you need a drilled hole with a gromet for your IAT sensor...personally if i was you... don't buy off of e-bay and you don't need to buy a Injen or AEM.... get a generic civic intake, 3" filter..3" 45 degree rubber elbow and 2 3" pipe clamps and do it that way... or look a little further on e-bay for one that looks like the actual product.... I 'm not sure why that one has 2 nipples... I have a Custom fab'd on my car... search around on here for an old posts about intakes and i put pics in there.... I didn't use any wire loom for my PCV valve, i just used a little filter.... but its up to you..

Do not get one off of ebay. They do not fit right!

Re: ebay air intake...

yea i wouldn't add the prelude one on there either... just stick with the single civic and add a cone filter.. same directions just minus the prelude..

Re: ebay air intake...

yes but you still would need the 45 degree 3" rubber elbow... pick it up at home depot or your local hardware store..... only other problem i forsee it you might need to buy a new bolt and nut for the mounting bracket the provide you there with... when you wrap that around the intake... you need to clamp it shut and then unscrew 1 nut off the bolt that hold the fuel rail cover to your valve cover.. attach the bracket and then reinstall....

Trust me...I have one on my car now and HATE IT. I'm getting a weapon-R intake when I get money to apply to that.
