Generation 4 lowering springs?????

Since the SHO was discontinued for GenIV, I have not been able to find any lowering springs for my 2004 Taurus, or any other Gen IV Taurus.

Eibach make springs for the '96-'00 Taurus. The '00 just covers the few genIII style suspension Taurus' left in that year, says Eibach, not the new GenIV.

Anyone know of any lowring springs for a 2004 Taurus'???

Re: Generation 4 lowering springs?????

as far as I know the suspension is the same in Gen 4 as Gen 3, I know the old Roush springs were compatible with all years '96+

Arrow Roush Springs

Is there a website with the different Roush Springs listed.
Can't seem to find anything for "roush lowering springs."

The major differences in springs between gen3 and 4 is the desing for the weight. I know the 2000 Eibachs will fit, but someone on cardomain bottoms out at 35MPH with them on his 2001, so that didn't help my case.

Thanks!

P.S. I think I need to get my car washed at the place you get yours washed. Nice rice page.

You can bottom out a four wheel drive at 35 depending on where you are at.
Did they put the KYB struts with the new springs.
You can go to www.taurusclub.com and find out more information.

You can also drop your car between a 1/4 and 1/2" by cutting the strut tabs.

Re: Generation 4 lowering springs?????

Roush only made one batch of Taurus springs, they sold out a few years ago.

Cool Lowering

That sux...no more Roush springs around.

Looks like Eibach is the only option, or maybe custom made springs??

The person in the Taurus club who bottomed out all the time did have stock struts, not the KYBs.

But are KYB's all that different than stock....or any stiffer??
if not who makes good stiff springs for the Taurus??

Thanks.

I have SHO springs on my 2000 with the KYB struts. I went with the SHO springs for the handling as I used my car for work and could not get in and out of the places I went if it was lowered.

I added bigger rear sway bar, Front Strut tower brace and Poly urethane bushings. I love the way it handles now. Other people have went further with aluminum sub frame bushings and even bigger bars but the ride quality suffers more than I wanted.

Anyway to answer your question the KYB's are stiffer than other brands.

Arrow Do Lowering springs interfere with ABS

Mike:
Your SHO sounds like a great set-up.
After I feel how it handles with the lowering springs, I might look into the sway bar and tower brace.

As far as KYB's, this might be a dumb question, why are the struts listed as front and rear "left hand" and front and rear "right hand" ??
The struts on the right are different than the left?
http://www.kyb.com/catalog/index.php...D=245&x=38&y=8

Also, some say that lowering springs may interfere with ABS brakes?
How are springs and brakes related??
Anyone with ABS and lowering sprngs?

Thanks!
