Need DIS help
First of all I'd like to say hi it's my first post! I have a friend that knows really nothing about cars besides for what I tell him. He's got a 95 Olds Aurora that I've put a cold air intake and a set of MSD coil packs. I need to get his MSD DIS-4 ignition on put I need to know the trigger wires for the coils. MSD makes a coil interface should I just use them or if some body has a diagram that they can tell me what wire is what would be great!

Re: Need DIS help
It should be under ignition system. The coil pack harness has four plugs on it which are the trigger wires.

The coil pack harness is not even listed.
The only part near that is the Ignition Control Module but there are no electrical schematics to tell you what goes to where. Sorry Maybe somone with the FSM could help.

Re: Need DIS help
Well I contacted MSD and they said the best way would be to use their coil interfaces #8871. I think it would be better than splicing into the harness since there isn't much room to move around wires.
The next task is to find a place to mount it? May have to go in the glove box if any thing! |

Re: Re: Need DIS help
I'm not even sure that you could do it with just splicing as the module that the coil packs plug into is the stock ignition module. So if you were going to use the DIS-4 which replaces (sort of) the stock ignition module you would need a way to interface with the coils. Which leaves you with two options. Use custom ignition coils or the MSD adapter.
