Talking Recently Reformed Hondaphile

hi all, i recently purched a tornado red gti 1.8t and love it. i used to own a 90 crx si and a accord lx. i sold my crx and gave my accord as a down payment. all i hav to say is i will never go back to honda. i hav seen the light and it has torque i hear alot of haters in my area all honda boys that say hey vws are chick cars and i just smile and step on the gas and watch them try to keep up

my purpose isn't so much to rant but rather to introduce myself to the vw gti community in this forum.

also hav n e of u guys heard about the mk V r32 i read in car an drive that it will have a twin turbo 300hp 3.2 v6. just wanted to know if n e 1 knows if this is true. if so and it stays about $32k i know what my next car will b.

sorry for the long post i will try to keep them short from now on.

Re: Recently Reformed Hondaphile

im almost 100% sure it wont be a twin turbo 3.2

vw makes people's cars, not like your japanese companies. they would never twin turbo a car, (unless its a w motor or something like that) they'll never twin turbo something like a vr6. also, a vr6 3.2 liter = 240 hp. im very very skeptical about vw products if two turbos only produce another 60 hp . the mkV r-series will be an r36 from what i hear.

also, if i were you, i wouldn't go around beating all the jdm'ers, cuz no offense or anything, the majority of them dont know beans about their cars. so if you keep beating em, they'll pretty soon want a vw too, which would make you feel like your being copied, and would flood the vw scene with ignorant people who dont want to know anything bout the car, they just want it to go fast. also the import scene is too cookie cutter-ish. vw/euro car's are more custom. dont change the euro scene into what the import scene is now. well.. for me its a personal thing

Re: Recently Reformed Hondaphile

Dont think your too hot either a nice little honda sleeper could wax that ass and you would feel like a dumbass.

You would never think it on the road but I have waxed 1.8T's and vr6's and even r32's all the time.

Yea I have lost to some pretty heavily modded 1.8T's but Have also beat some too. Dont get caught up in yourself man. You may have some nice power on tap but your in a heavy ass car

I agree with everyone for the most part, but just add a chip and some simple bolt ons to the 1.8 and it will be pretty quick.

well. let me start off by welcoming you to the vw forums. I'm gld u like the 1.8t, and i would suggest a chip as your first mod. maybe you can try a ko4 turbo upgrade, but i'm happy that u have seen the light. just have fun and kick ass.

Re: Recently Reformed Hondaphile

You know where I live there are a lot of people who drive honda's and dsm's some people drive VW's (I drive a 95 VR6 Jetta pretty modded) the thing is everytime I race another VW even if I win or lose they act all arrogant and don't even give a thumbs up. I see the VW driver just look away and not even acknowledge me while whenever I race a someone in a Honda or DSM wether I win or lose they usually are a lot more friendlier and since they don't know a lot about the VR6 are very curious too. It's cool that you got a 1.8T they're great cars but don't get arrogant like a lot of the VW people where I live.

Re: Recently Reformed Hondaphile

no

the R36 is rumored to have 270-300bhp with it's new 3.6 V6 FSI, not the R32
pretty decent power for the weight, it'll also be used in the future Touaregs and other modes including some audi's

and neither of them will have turbo, if they will, it still won't be anytime soon

but if you are looking for the turbo'd version of it, you might wanna look at Porsche, since VW is under contract to supply the engine to them, but not the new one, the old 3.2 one, that's why they got angry, coz they were pissed that VW made a new 3.6 while they get the old 3.2
and we all know how much Porsche like to turbo their cars, so they will probably be the one that'll turbocharge this engine

and don't get the K04, it's useless
either go all the way or don't go at all
if you are gettin' a new turbo, get a bigger one, or don't
