Unhappy Catalytic Converter Problem Jetta 99

Is there any cheaper alternative to buying a catalytic converter from a dealer. Do universal catalytic converter perform well.

Re: Catalytic Converter Problem Jetta 99

Try going to allcatalyticconverters.com. My friend ordered one for her 98 Jetta for about $100. Of course you have to have it installed, but she took her's to a shop that did it for about $120...it was much, much cheaper than what the dealer quoted.
