puddle in my floorboard?!?
I just parked my Camaro in the driveway and came in the house for about 10 mins. When I went back outside, there was a stream of coolant dripping from under it. I got in the car, smelled antifreeze, looked down and saw a puddle of engine coolant in the passenger side floor under the dash. WTF???

Re: puddle in my floorboard?!?
I had a feeling something was wrong this morning when I turned on my heater and it never got hot. I just bought the car 2mos ago and it was the first time to use the heater.

Re: puddle in my floorboard?!?
bypass is easy.. just join the heater inlet and outlet hoses.. join em' anywhere.. under the hood or dash.. You could even just trace the hoses back and plug them off..
get any frost on your windows and your f%$#cked I prefer to fix it the proper way.. install a new heater core..

Re: puddle in my floorboard?!?
yeah. I just finished replacing mine. Its really pretty simple. The heater core was $60 and it only took like 20-30 mins. Its worth having a heater and defroster.

Re: puddle in my floorboard?!?
yeah the only pain in the ass is removing the dash without cracking it, ive got my dash completely stripped out, the only thing coming out of my firewall is the sterring coulumn, wires, and heater core. and im gonna put it all together over winter break. but getting down to the heater core is a no brainer.

Re: puddle in my floorboard?!?
yes the by-pass is simple. for mine i took the hose completly off on the right side under the hood on the left side of the motor on the fire wall. it runs from the water pump to the heater core, i took that one off, then the other hose next to it. i took that off the part on the fire wall and hooked it directly to the water pump. now the hose sticks up in a loop from the intake to water pump. the hoses seemed to be different sizes but just shove it on the water pump even tho its a tight fit. if the hose is good you wont have a problem.

Heater cores are a pain in the ass. Much needed in winter... Repacing by a dealer is around 6-7 hundred /more. You would think engineers could resolve this problem at the firewall...but........ Anyway..either bypass at the firewall or bite the bullet..... |

Re: puddle in my floorboard?!?
I had mine replaced in my 3rdgen for under 200. With parts and labor. I don't care for heat or a/c in anycase but my fiance does. She refuses to ride in it with out heat so I did it up. what a damn ho -_-
