BOSE question
i was wondering if any of you know about pulling the factory amps from the car. i know that the amps are in the doors, but i was wondering what it would take to pull them out. anyone done it? also, would there be any wiring hold-ups. i was gonna pull those and just run speaker wire straight from my head unit...

Re: BOSE question
are you doing a custom speaker install???? why are you bypassing the amps to run less wattage???

Re: BOSE question
im thinkin about pulling the amps cause my head units puts out the same amount of power as the factory amps do. plus i was thinking of doing a 4 channel speaker amp down the road.

Re: BOSE question
why r u replacing a speaker?
w/ the bose the best thing to do is replace it all and run all new wires to all speakers. tryin to replace just a speaker wont work unless u have a nother bose like the one thats in it. they r at a funny ohm load. and u wont get a strong enough single by bypassing the amp w/ the factory head unit |

Re: BOSE question
yeah so i pulled the amps from the doors, ran new speaker wire from the head unit, and put new speakers in. sounds a lot better. for some strange reason i expected the amps to be larger than what came out. they were screwed to the plastic bracket that holds the speaker, and are about the size of an iPod. long story longer, it sounds better with out the bose stuff...
