99 740i radio reception
I have a 99 740i and the radio reception is very weak on AM stations. Basically, it will not pickup AM stations at all. It is ok with FM but if I travel into rural areas they loose their reception more than my other car.
Where is the actual antenna on the 740i? Does anyone have a similar problem? Thanks... |

Re: 99 740i radio reception
I have a similar problem on my '93 740iL. I've been told that my tinted windows interfere with the antenna built into the rear window. Your car is an E38 though and the antenna location may be different.

Re: 99 740i radio reception
You have to get used to it. They suck period. I use the CD changer alot but at least I live where there are tons of stations so reception is good. Try the XM satellite install possibly.

It is good to finally crack the code as to poor radio reception. I only wish that the answer wasn't "get used to it".
I have a 2001 740il as well as several other cars and live in a major metropolitan area (Philadelphia). All other cars have substantially better AM reception. Is Sat the only option? Regards to all! |
