H22a Swap
Hello,
You may see my other thread that says about an f20 swap. Well ive been reading around and ive finally come to a conclusion thats its too much of a b*t#h. So now i took some advice from my fellow people on here and they told me about an h22A swap. After reading the specs i have concluded that an H22A in my car will haul extreme @$$. So i looked on my favoritve site. www.jspecautosports.com and went under catalog and JDM engines. I found the motor on there for 2250. Way cheaper than you would anywhere else. And these motors have between 30-50 K on them. I read on what all i need to do and i found out i need an H22A mount kit, Easy to get. And it says requires engine harness Modification. So my question to you guys is what all needs to be done with the engine harness. Hopefully You guys can help me out. THANKS.

Re: H22a Swap
Honestly I would get the motor from some where else. My buddy bought his h22 from there and he wasn't completely happy with it. Infact he got an LSD tranny and it blew up in about 2 months (syncros went to sh*t and the LSD blew to pieces, cracking a big hole in the tranny case). There are also a bunch of sensors busted, though those are not warenteed by any company; motors from any other place I've seen didn't have the problem. Look thru here for at least 2 or 3 walkthroughs on how to do it: http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=642479 There is a thread in there that will tell you the different axle combinations you can use.
And here's some wiring: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t211027.html You'll need to compare that to the harness you have in there now, which should be this: http://tech2.hybridgarage.com/ecu.php?ecutype=p72_obd1 And remember about the cutting of the tranny mount, pic here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...rannymount.jpg And also cutting for the shifter inside the car. |

Re: H22a Swap
Im assuming you are getting mounts from hasport, they should carry everything you need for the swap. If you go to www.hasport.com you can find a number to call. There is a PARTIAL list of wiring conversions with some prices to get an idea, but i would imagine they would have a wiring conversion for h22 swap. they are the king of swaps, they could answer all of your questions.

Re: H22a Swap
That's because it is a heavy(ier) car. In an Integra, they're faster than a GSR swap. The power is definently worth the hassles of getting it in the car.
